My own journey has taken me down a wonderful path filled with unexpected joys, frustrations, and blessings.  As a result of this wonderful path, I now help people to take control of their future; including their financial well-being.  Here's a brief overview.... 

I stepped into life as an adult following the path that my parents taught me.  I went to school, got the education, and started my career.  Along the way I bumped into and married Mr. Right (aka Kurt).  His career path was a little different than mine.  He believes that it's better to be your own boss and that a little hard work goes a long way.  He has the heart of an entrepreneur.  Although our chosen paths toward financial well-being were different, our goals for our lives together were very much the same.

By year 8 in our marriage, we had been blessed with the amazing gift of adoption twice... two boys!  At about that time it was apparent that my full-time job was not compatible with the family life we wanted.  At the same time it was apparent that the business venture we had poured all of our resources into was not achieving the goals we had set.  We closed the doors of our gas station on the 4th of July and found ourselves in survival mode.  Bankruptcy allowed us to keep a roof over our heads.

We lost most of the stuff we had acquired in our first few years together.  The toughest thing about losing just about everything was not the loss of the cars and other stuff.  It was the loss of our confidence... in ourselves and in each other.

The life we had dreamed about and planned for was crumbling.  We were a heartbeat away from losing what really mattered.... our family.  By the grace of God we slowly began to recapture the hope and courage we had lost.     

After a pity-party that lasted way too long, we decided once again  to go after the life we had planned during the first few years of our marriage.  We are grateful for the jobs we held during this time, but we wanted time for our family.  We took a leap of faith and launched a business that allowed me to work from home.  It was our Plan B.  With the support of Kurt, I worked our Plan B part-time.  After about 6 months I quit my job, and it wasn't long before I replaced my income and we knew that we were on a path that would give us the time we wanted for our family along with the income to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle.  

One of my favorite quotes comes from Eleanor Roosevelt who said, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." I wrote The Journey, a fictionalized story based in real-life experiences with the hope of inspiring others to believe in the beauty of their dreams—and to act on that belief.

We had a choice to make and it was not easy.  We could have continued to focus on (worry about) what was not working in our lives or focus on the possibilities and move toward the life we held in our hearts.  We decided to connect with hope and to act on that hope!  We know that you can have victory in the midst of crisis.  Is it time for you to move from worry to hope?  Is it time for you to take control of your future and your financial well being?  Start by reading The Journey!
