About Julie…

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Julie received her Bachelors Degree in 1982 and spent the first several years of professional life in public parks administration. Much of her work focused on working with troubled youth, and her career path soon took her into the field known as Prevention, which focuses on helping young people stay off the path of drug and alcohol abuse.

Julie married her husband Kurt in 1986; together they are raising their two wonderful boys AJ and RJ in Las Vegas, Nevada. With two young children at home and both parents working full-time jobs outside the home, Julie and Kurt wanted to make a change that would reduce the stresses of hectic schedules and increase the time they could spend with their growing boys. In 2000, Julie took a leap of faith and started a home-based business. Julie has since experienced both the struggles and the joys of building a business from home while managing the needs of her family.

Through her work, Julie has come to believe that the family has the first and best opportunity to build a solid foundation for children. While schools, communities, and many other forces certainly can contribute to raising healthy children, Julie believes that family is foremost. Providing the best home environment possible depends not only on solid "parenting skills," but also on the parents themselves pursuing their own paths to become the best individuals they can be. Accordingly, Julie has dedicated her life to supporting others in discovering ways to create the life they deeply desire. The Journey, her first novel, is an expression of that path.

One of Julie's favorite quotes comes from Eleanor Roosevelt who said, "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams." Julie hopes that by sharing The Journey, a fictionalized story based in real-life experiences, she can help inspire families to believe in the beauty of their dreams—and to act on that belief.
